TermWorm Software is an offshoot of my other website, www.lukenslanguages.com. I am a translator of Russian and French, and I also write text processing utilities and web applications. I have a handful of little programs lying around in my office that do some "neat tricks," and at some point I decided to make them available to other translators. It became apparent that they would probably need a site of their own.

This site will not replace your need to buy a CAT tool. It might, however, help fill in the gaps where a CAT tool won't do what you want it to. I am of the opinion that a fistful of stones can serve just as well as a big stick. These are small-scale programs, but I get a fair amount of mileage out of them, and I think other translators will as well.

As of this moment, only one of these tools has been converted from a clunky utility that I run from the command prompt into a user-friendly web application. It's only useful for translators of Russian. Tools that are more language-independent will follow shortly. If Translit Plus (the web application that is up and running now) is not something that you can use in your work, consider subscribing to the RSS feeds in the News section or join the mailing list. This way you will be informed whenever a new tool is released.
